1st Congregational Input

A new comment from Ana Cohan

Its that time again, Lent, where many of us grew up with the idea of giving something up for these 40 days until Easter. Many of us from the church come from different faith backgrounds and some people have told me that they don’t understand it, or its a Catholic thing. Pastor Becky preached last year that Lent is a time of spiritual contemplation and giving something up for Lent is a manner of fasting. Are any of you giving up something for Lent? If so, what and why?

Hello world!

I have always appreciated the fact that our church has never attempted to demonstrate that it has all the answers to the huge questions of life.. Ginger’s comment . I had the thought yesterday – something along the lines of  “… The congregation helping each other toward a deeper understanding.”

Can anyone pull that thought further along??
